Mary F Laird

Mary Frances Laird, 74 of Fort Dodge passed peacefully away on December 22, 2016 at the Pocahontas Care Center in Pocahontas surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be Wednesday December 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. Visitation will Tuesday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mary Frances Laird was born on October 1, 1942 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Glen and Dorothy (Myers) Winters. She grew up in the Fort Dodge area and attended schools there. Mary married Larry Laird and to this union eight children were born. The couple later divorced. She worked housekeeping at Comfort Inn for several years, retiring in 2013. Mary enjoyed her pets and playing bingo, but the real joy in her life was time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Tracy (Dan) Cuvala of Monument, CO, Chris (Ron) Zinn of Dows, IA, Larry (Tammy) Laird of Pocahontas, IA, Bruce Laird of Pocahontas, IA and Scott Laird of Colfax, IA, 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Glen Winters of Eau Claire, WI, Robert (Janet) Winters of Seaside, OR, Kenneth (Donna) Winters of Madrid, IA and her sister, Patricia Winters of Fort Dodge, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three children Mary Ann (infant), Rodney and Glenn.
