Mary L. Swenson

Mary L. (Duis) Swenson, 74, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, November17, 2004 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the Deer Creek Trinity Lutheran Church with the Pastor Jerry Raether officiating.

Mary was born March 16, 1930 the daughter of Clarence and Louise (Sternitzke) Sindlinger in Fort Dodge, IA.

On January 29, 1954 Mary was united in marriage to Louis Duis at the Deer Creek Trinity Lutheran Church. Following the death of Louis, Mary was remarried to Swen Swenson on July 1, 1982.

Mary lived on the farm her entire life and had a great passion and love for the land. She looked forward to planting her garden in the spring and harvesting through out the summer. Mary’s other great loves were her grandchildren and participating in there lives over the years. Mary was always excited to go to the mall and meet her friends to walk. She spent her free time quilting for World Relief.

Those thankful for having shared in Mary’s life include her children, Rose Duis of Fort Dodge, Dennis (Cindy) Duis of Fort Dodge, Ruth (Jeff) Oleson of Bono, Ark, and Karen Rapple of Dakota City, IA, one aunt, Teresa Weber of Fort Dodge, one uncle, Lawrence Sindlinger of Fort Dodge, eight grandchildren, Richard, Jason, Adam, Jennifer, Marisa, Brian, Devin, and Kyler and one great grandson Zachary.

Mrs. Swenson was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Louis Duis and Swen Swenson, and twin daughters.
