Mavis B. Mesenbrink

Mavis B. Mesenbrink, 81, of Fort Dodge, died Friday April 13, 2007 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007 in the mausoleum chapel at North Lawn Cemetery.

The family requests that no flowers be sent in her honor.

Mavis was born November 24, 1925 the daughter of Ollie and Julia (Mickelson) Nelson in Highview, Iowa.  In 1945 Mavis was united in marriage to Francis Powell.  To this union three children were born.  In 1980 Mavis was united in marriage to Leonard Mesenbrink.

Mavis and her good friend Karen Moffet were often seen at the bingo parlor or getting ready to make a casino trip.  She especially enjoyed socializing with her friends.

Mavis is survived by her children; Richard Powell of Las Vegas, NV, Dennis (Jane) Powell of Webster City, IA, Terry Powell of Webster City, IA, a great friend; Karen Moffet of Fort Dodge, IA, two grandchildren; Mindy and Sam Powell both of Ames, IA.

Mrs. Mesenbrink was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard in 1981, half sisters; Adrian and Bertha Taxted, half brothers; Leonard, Sam, and Ole Taxted.
