Maynard C. Anderson

April 14, 1928 — July 18, 2016

Maynard C. Anderson, 88, of Fort Dodge passed away on July 18, 2016 at the Fort Dodge Villa. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Historic Bruce Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Peitsch officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will take place at the Dayton Cemetery.

 

Maynard Charles Anderson was born at the family home in Burnside, Iowa on April 14, 1928. He was the first child for Elmer and Willhemia (Schwirtz) Anderson. As an infant, Maynard was baptized into the Lutheran Faith. He grew up in the Fort Dodge Area. After graduation he worked for area farmers and enjoyed working construction; building and selling many small buildings. Maynard enjoyed farm animals and had a love for dogs. He was very close with his family. Maynard passed away on July 18, 2016 at the Fort Dodge Villa, at the age of 88 years, three months, and four days.

Maynard is survived by his sister, Ruth (Ernest, Sr) Schoenfisch; his long term care provider and niece Tammy Varland; and his nieces and nephews Christine, Ernest Jr., Debra, Darla, and Dwayne.

Maynard is preceeded in death by his parents and his siblings: Ardelle Anderson, Laverna Taylor, Arvada Thompson, and Curtiss Anderson.
