Melvin Joseph Lawrence

Melvin Joseph Lawrence, age 79, of Woolstock, Iowa passed away on March 6, 2020 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. No formal services are planned for Melvin.

Melvin Joseph Lawrence, the son of Charles and Cecil (Haunus) Lawrence, was born on December 8, 1940 in Woolstock, Iowa. Melvin served in the U.S. Army. On January 3, 1966 Melvin was united in marriage with Cindy Thompson in Freeport, Illinois. He drove truck for 40 plus years for Umthum Trucking in Eagle Grove. Melvin enjoyed fishing and driving truck.

Left to cherish Melvins memory are his children, Kevin (Tina) Lawrence of Eagle Grove, Joe (Denise) Lawrence of Janesville, WI and Sheila (Ken) Tollas of Harvard, IL; grandchildren, MaKenna Lawrence, Amanda and Dan Cancross and Kyle Tollas; a great grandson, Mason Cancross; and a brother, Eldon (Carol Jean) Wood of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Jill Lawrence; and a brother, Richard Lawrence.
