Michael Ray Parrish, 80, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the Marian Home. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place in North Lawn Cemetery. Memorial cards may be directed to the family at 1508 8th Avenue South – Fort Dodge, IA 50501.

Michael was born March 20, 1939, in Webster City, IA, the son of Charles and Ruth (Peterson) Parrish. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1957. In 1958, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1962. Over the years, he worked as a meat cutter at Hy-Vee (40 years) and Midas Transportation (7 years) until his retirement in 2012. On September 29, 2012, Michael married Gloria Butrick. He enjoyed racing, model cars and bowling in his younger years.

Michael is survived by his wife: Gloria Butrick-Parrish of Fort Dodge; 3 children: Kevin Parish (Jill Fox) of Riverview, FL, Steve Parrish of Riverview and Kimberly Parrish (Mark “Cupcake” Presswood) of Fort Dodge; son: John Gregerson (Crystal) of Jefferson, IA; step-daughter: Helen Campbell of State Center, IA; 7 grandchildren: Amanda Gregerson (Terry Brown) of Fort Dodge, Ashley Gregerson of Kansas City, KS, Raven Parrish (Trevor Crossett) of Fort Dodge, IA, Ivy Lyftogt of Fort Dodge, Che Lyftogt of Fort Dodge, Tiffany Parrish of Riverview and Todd Parrish of Riverview; 4 great grandchildren: Deklen Crossett, Silas Crossett, Aria Brown and Taelyn Brown; and a sister: Nancy Dermond of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister: Mary Lou Mickerson. He was also preceded in death by Audrey Parrish.
