Mildred "Millie" L. Bass

Mildred “Millie” L. Bass, 88, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Friday, September 29, 2023, at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Webster City, IA.  Per her wishes, no services will be scheduled.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

Mildred was born July 4, 1935, in DeKalb County, MO, the daughter of Burnis E. and Fern L. (Merritt) Rhoad.  She attended school in Webster City.  Millie was a social butterfly and enjoyed working at many bars over the years.  She also worked for Norwest Bank of Omaha for 15 years until her retirement on August 9, 1996.  Millie also enjoyed casino trips, visiting Twin Lakes and gardening.

Mildred is survived by 3 children:  Allen Bass and wife Terri of Fort Dodge, Kim Frazer of Webster City, and Tracy Bass of Omaha, NE; 7 grandchildren:  Jason, Jesse, Jennie, Brandy, Barbara, Bridget, and Lacy; 3 great grandchildren:  McKenzi, Lexi and Ashley. Siblings:  Martha Totten, Ray Rhoad and Lucille Loeffler; and daughter-in-law:  Cindy.  She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son:  Rex Bass; and 3 siblings:  Maxine Fortune, Betty Rhoad and Clyde Rhoad.
