Neil Holloway, 81, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday August 28, 2011 at the Marian Home.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. L.J. Hartley officiating.

Neil was born April 26, 1930 the son of Fred and Lucille (Marshall) Holloway in Rockwell City, Iowa. Neil enlisted in the United States Army on May 11, 1949 and served his country until his honorable discharge on October 18, 1952. During his tour he earned the following; Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal w/3 Bronze Stars. He was a motion picture camera operator and was enrolled in the electric course from September 7th the October 19th 1951.

Neil was united in marriage to Joann Bartlett on April 5, 1953 to this union four children were born.

Neil was professional electrician for many years and was a member of the local IBEW. Neil loved to fly. He took flying to the extreme by diving out of a perfectly good airplane during the annual sky diving event on his 60th birthday. Neil loved to tinker and invent things. He invented and patented a PVC Electric Switch Apparatus. He loved his work looking forward to each new day and the challenges that came with it. Neil was an animal lover, especially dogs. He was a member of the VFW and the Experimental Aircraft Association.

Those thankful for having shared in Neils life include his wife; Joann, four children; Peggy (Ronald) Long, Kathy (Ken) Gawtry, Alan Holloway, Ann Marie Holloway, two sisters; Helen Hudson, Nelda Gabhart, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Margorie, Bly, Ruby and one brother; Clarence.
