Patric "Pat" "Buck" Buckingham

Patric “Pat” “Buck” C. Buckingham, 69, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Monday, April 8, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA.  Private services will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.  

Patric was born May 2, 1954, in Port Huron, MI, the son of Joe and Irene (Coop) Buckingham.  He graduated from Port Huron High School in 1972.  Pat was a dedicated individual who valued service to his country. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1994.  Following his retirement from the Navy, Pat dedicated 20 years to working in corrections.  On February 12, 2011, he was united in marriage to Renee Ryan at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge.  Buck enjoyed spending time with his wife, fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle, playing golf, having a nice cold beverage and simply socializing with his friends ("his peeps").  He also cherished time with his puppies “Chloe” and “Milo”.  He was a member of ABATE and the Moose Lodge.

 Pat is survived by his wife of 13 years, Renee Ryan-Buckingham of Fort Dodge; six children: Tyler Buckingham, Trish Hammond (and husband Brett), Jeremy Buckingham, Heidi Miller (and husband Bill), Heather Johnson (and husband Marshall), and Austin Buckingham; numerous grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; as well as four siblings: Butch Buckingham, Leila Vitale, Sara Ankrapp, and Lori Robbins; and step-mother:  Nancy Buckingham. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jeff Buckingham.
 
 Buck will be dearly missed.
