Paul W. Hoerchler, 73, of Otho, IA, died Sunday, July 7, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.
Paul was born November 7, 1950, in Fort Dodge, the son of Edwin W. and Eileen M. (McHugh) Hoerchler. He graduated from St. Edmond Catholic School in 1968, and continued his education at Iowa Central Community College and Iowa State University. He was united in marriage to April M. Martin. Paul worked in retail/customer service until his retirement in 2017. Throughout his life, Paul was known for his deep-rooted passion for cheering on Iowa State and the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed playing chess and his love for nature was evident through his fondness for going on cruises, hiking, and camping. Among his many interests, one stood out prominently - his sheer enjoyment of food which brought him immense pleasure.
Paul is survived by his daughter: Sherri L. Paul and husband Tom of Dayton, IA; 2 step-children: Jeana Keller and husband Jacob of Jefferson, IA and Richard Davis and wife Larissa of Burleson, TX; 8 grandchildren: Christian Davis of Ames, IA, Quinten Jaques of Killeen, TX, Darian Jaques of Des Moines, IA Haven Keller of Jefferson, Liam Davis of Burleson, Whitney Martenson of Pilot Mound, IA, JD Moore of Webster City, IA and Gabriel Moore of Fort Dodge; 1 great grandchild: Vivian Osborn of Des Moines; and a sister: Colleen Sanders and husband Bob of Fort Dodge. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2022; and a brother: Tom Hoerchler.
