Paul William Wendland, 53, of Barnum died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at his home of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at the St. Marks Episcopal Church with The Rev. Stephen M. Hall officiating.  Interment will follow in the St. Josephs Cemetery, Barnum.  Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Paul was born October 14, 1951 in Fort Dodge, IA the son of Carl and Louise (Schuster) Wendland.  He graduated from Northwest Webster Community School in Barnum with the class of 1969.  On February 13, 1971 Paul was united in marriage to Lana Witte at St. Marks Episcopal Church, Fort Dodge.

Paul will be sadly missed by his wife Lana of 34 years, sons; Paul II and wife Jan of Barnum, Brett of Fort Dodge, daughters; Dodie and husband Kevin Wood of Manson, Casey and husband Mark Miller of Fort Dodge, Grandchildren; Brittany, Kylie, and Carl Wendland, Taylor, Alexis, and Kadin Wood, Zoey and Gracie Miller who all affectionately called him “Tall Paul”, sisters; Leona and Jim Schneider of Viola, WI, Marian and Jim Dowling of Bedford, IA, Mother in law Betty Witte of Fort Dodge, and many other family and friends.

Mr. Wendland was preceded in death by his parents; Carl and Louise Wendland, an infant brother, Elmer, and his father in law Garth “Bill” Witte.

Paul grew up farming with his father and began his own farming career in 1968.  He later went to work at USG from 1984 until his retirement in 1992.  Paul had a great love for farming and working on old cars especially GTOs.
