Pearl B. Stone, 94, Fort Dodge, died on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Grindberg officiating. Burial will be held in the Harrison Township Cemetery, Swea City, IA. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at Bruce’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Memorials will be left to the families discretion.

Pearl was born on September 9, 1909, the daughter John and Sarah (Anderson) Cassem in East Chain, Minn. On Aug. 14, 1931 Pearl was united in marriage to Charlie F. Stone in Swea City. Pearl loved to chat with her family and reminisce over the good times. You could always count on Pearl to remember the important dates, the family events and even who was naughty in their younger days. Pearl enjoyed dancing to Polka and then later in life sitting back and listening to Polka. She liked Word Search, Bingo, traveling and watching “I Love Lucy”. Her favorite time was spent with her family and was always asking “where’s the doings?” Over the past 22 years she has had the privilege of living with each of her children and grand children.

Pearl’s memories will be cherished and shared with others by her children, Lorraine (Orville) Stone Parsons McClelland of LeHigh, Merlin (Carol) Stone of Algona, Joan (Walter) Heun of Fort Dodge, Judy (John) Cerwick of Burnsville, MN; 1 brother, Wally Cassem of Welcome, MN; 1 sister, Sylvia Poyzer of Estherville, IA; 1 son in law, Richard Thiel; 19 Grandchildren; 40 Great Grandchildren; 12 Great-Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie; 2 daughters, Charlotte in infancy and Marcella; 1 sister, Alma Vogt; 4 brothers, Leslie, Art, Edward, Donald Cassem; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
