Funeral Services for Raymond Taylor, 84 of Fort Dodge will be Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 1 pm at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, IA. With Rev. Nathan Peitsch officiating. Visitation will be 10 am until time of services. Burial will be in St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery in Fort Dodge Military honors provided by Iowa National Guard and Fort Dodge V.F.W. Raymond Taylor was born August 5, 1928 in Callender, Iowa to Ralph and Lena (MaColena) Taylor. He attended school in Moorland. After school he worked on the family farm and then entered the United States Army serving in Anchorage, Alaska. He was united in marriage to LaVerna Anderson on January 3, 1954. Ray worked for United States Gypsum for 42 years. His hobbies included raising poultry and gardening. He loved spending time with his family and neighbors, especially his nieces and nephews. Raymond thought very highly of the Humane Society, Oleson Park Zoo and the Salvation Army. Ray died at his home on Sunday, July 28, 2013.

Ray is survived by brother-in-law Ernest Schoenfisch Sr., sister-in-law Ruth Schoenfisch, sister-in-law Arvada Thompson, brother-in-law Maynard Anderson, nephew Ernest Schoenfisch Jr. nieces; Kay Pingle,Deborah Kramer, Christine Sears and Tammy Varland. Also survived by great nephew Donny Pingle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife LaVerna, two brothers; Eugene and Richard, and four sisters; Esther, Elsie, Sharon and Janet.
