Regina Josephine Myers

Funeral Services for Regina J. Myers 89 of Jesup, formerly of Fort Dodge will be Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11:30 am at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge.  Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to services.  Burial will be in the Otho Cemetery.  She died Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, Iowa.

Regina Josephine Myers was born October 8, 1924 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Floyd and Agnes (Devlin) Beaver.  She grew up in Clayworth  and attended country school.  Regina was united in marriage to Don Myers in 1949 in Duluth, Minnesota.  The couple moved to Evansdale where they lived until 1987 when she moved to Jesup, Iowa. She worked with her daughter La Donna, at Forever Changing Consignments in Oelwein where she was known to many as “Granny”. She enjoyed crocheting, flowers and bird watching.  Regina especially enjoyed fishing and volunteered in Operation Santa Claus in Buchanan County for over 30 years.

Regina is survived by her children; La Donna (Alvin) Hepler of Fairbank, IA and Russell (Tammy) Myers of Jesup, IA; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  She is also survived by two sisters; Linda Gottschalk of Otho, and Lena Burger of Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Don on April 30, 1985.
