Richard "Richie" Scott Sells

Richard “Richie” Scott Sells “The Morbid Angel”, 40, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Monday, April 27, 2026, at his home. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Richard was born August 23, 1985, in Fort Dodge, the son of Randy and Christy (Leiss) Sells. He attended Fort Dodge Senior High and continued his education at Iowa Central Community College. Richie enjoyed wresting. “The Morbid Angel” belonged to the RCCW, IPW and RWA. He also enjoyed listening to metal music, baseball and playing games with his friends (Dungeons & Dragons). Above all, he loved spending time with his daughter.

Richie is survived by his daughter: Arianna Sells of Fort Dodge; his sister: Brandi Atkinson of Blackduck, MN; 2 nieces: Danisha Stenson and husband Tate of Bemidji, MN, Macey Sells of Blackduck, MN; great nephew: Brittan Graves; mother of his child: Alisha Perry of Fort Dodge; 2 brothers: Victor Pingel of Fort Dodge and Robert Pingel of Fort Dodge; and “adopted mom”: Virlene Pingle of Fort Dodge. He is also survived by 2 half siblings and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as many aunts & uncles including Bruce Sells.
