Robert "Bob" Whipple

Robert “Bob” Whipple, 80, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Manson, IA. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Olson Park in Fort Dodge.  Memorials may be directed to the Good Samaritan Society, 1402 Main Street - Manson, IA 50563. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Robert was born November 10, 1944, in Spirit Lake, IA, the son of Leslie and Alma (Duckett) Whipple. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1962, and continued his education at UNI in Cedar Falls, IA where he earned his BA degree. Bob enjoyed schooling. He also enjoyed reading, surfing the internet and listening to band concerts at the park. Bob worked for Hy-Vee (delivery) for 25 years until his retirement in 2024.

Bob is survived by 2 siblings: Jean Bortner of Indianola, IA and Bill Whipple and wife Barbara of Overland Park, KS. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister: June Wood.
