Robert W. Meinking, 82, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lyle Hansen officiating.  Interment will follow in the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday from 5 until 7:30 p.m. at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Robert was born August 22, 1925 the son of Edward and Edna (Kischer) Meinking in Albert City, Iowa.  On March 4, 1968 Robert was united in marriage to Betty Bacon.  The couple was blessed with over 40 years of marriage. Robert was a self employed feed and seed salesman who committed numerous years of service to the Moorman Feed Company.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting as time permitted.  Robert was known as the jokester with his quick wit and humor.  He often made people laugh.  He looked forward to the summer and fall months as that meant time for baseball games.  Robert had a passion for the game and as a young man enjoyed playing it.  Robert was a member of the Pork Producers, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in which he had served as an elder. He was also on the board for the Webster County Museum Society. Those thankful for having shared in Roberts life include his wife, Betty, one sister Joan and her husband Wilbur Ohlson and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Meinking was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lorna and her husband Bruce Jewell.
