Shawn Payne

Shawn F. Payne, 61, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Accura HealthCare of Pomeroy. A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 838 N. 25th Street – Fort Dodge. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Shawn was born February 9, 1965, in Fort Dodge, the son of Fitch and Theresa (Bolisenga) Payne. He graduated from Manson High School in 1983. On October 31st he was united in marriage to Michelle “Chell” in Fort Dodge. Shawn’s passion in life was playing his guitar. His favorite band was Metallica and he loved being a traveling “Rockstar”, partying and Rock N’ Roll. Shawn enjoyed taking care of his dog Max, spending time with his friends, clay, art, dolphins and the ocean. Shawn was a hilarious man who truly loved life.

Shawn is survived by his grandson: Logan Payne; and 5 siblings. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2026; son: Ryan Payne; and 2 foster brothers: Ben Payne and Mark Patterson.
