Shirley M. Slama, 81, of Fort Dodge, died Friday, April 9, 2004 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

The family has had a private gathering to reflect on Shirley’s life.

Shirley was born September 26, 1922 the daughter of Carl Jacob and Anne Equinere Geraldine (Davis) Clausen in Duncombe, IA. On March 24, 1940 Shirley was united in marriage to Robert G. Slama.

In Shirley’s younger years she enjoyed ballroom dancing and relaxing to the soothing music. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her garden and flower gardens as well as going fishing. Shirley has always been a sports fan and enjoyed watching any ball game that was on TV.

Those thankful for having shared in Shirley’s life include her children, Jerry W. (Linda) Slama of Colony, TX, Ronald R. (Catherine) Slama of Spokane, WA, Laura Powers of Livonia, Mich., and Sylvia (Clifford) Ziesmer of Southgate, Mich., five sisters, her twin sister, Charlotte, Bea, Dorothy, Mary, and Judy, 24 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, and a dear and special friend, Emma Utley of Fort Dodge.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
