Steven Craig Fair

Steven Craig Fair, 71, of Fort Dodge, IA, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Private family inurnment will be held at the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.  

Steven was born on October 14, 1952 and attended Fort Dodge schools until 1965, then Barnum Northwest Webster until his graduation in 1970. 

In 1971, Steve enlisted in the Air Force and was an airplane electrician where he earned the nickname “Rocket Man”. Steve was stationed in Thailand for a year before his honorable discharge in 1975.

Steve had several occupations including Black Jack Dealer at Four Queens and MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, U.S. Postal Service, FD schools cafeteria system and Pizza Hut.

Steve is survived by daughters Stephanie Fair, Des Moines; Sara (Louis) Berens, Lewisburg, TN; Charlene (Rick) Merket, Indianapolis, IN; Chloe Fair, UK; and son Bradley Fair, Fort Dodge; Grandchildren Dakota (Ashley) Yoast, Kyla Severs and Emma Berens all of Lewisburg, TN; Great grandchildren Ember Fair, Fort Dodge; Brueklyn, Tinsleigh, Aurora (AJ) and Dante (DJ) all of Lewisburg, TN; Mother Angelina Fair, Manson; Sister Tess Cauvan, Sacramento, CA and brother Russell Fair, Broken Arrow, OK.

He was predeceased by his Father Bud Fair, brother Michael Fair, brother in law Mike Cauvan, great grandchild Zakk, grandparents Merdick (Mike) and Nora Rushton and Lawrence Rosales.
