Tammy J. Johnson

Tammy Jeanne Johnson, 64, of Fort Dodge, IA, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 23, 2024, at UnityPoint – Trinity Regional Medical Center.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, April 1, 2024, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South – Fort Dodge.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home.   

Tammy was born November 3, 1959, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Don and Mary (Woodman) Dornath.  She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1978.  On December 30, 1978, she was united in marriage to Michael D. Johnson and to this union 3 children were born:  Jackie, Matthew and Lindsey.  The couple resided in Gowrie and later divorced.  Over the years, Tammy worked at The Video Place, Hi-VAC and Casey’s.  Tammy enjoyed spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.  She loved all children.  She also loved all animals and enjoyed taking care of her cats and dogs.  She would feed the wild life, and her family would refer to her as “Snow White”.  Tammy enjoyed traveling and was always up for a last-minute adventure.  

Tammy is survived by 3 children:  Jackie Kraft and husband Ron of Gowrie, IA, Matthew Johnson and wife Judy of Callender, IA and Lindsey Johnson of Gowrie; 6 grandchildren:  Gabrielle Grove and husband Ryan, Haylee Kraft and fiancé Memphis, Kaden Kraft, Ronnie Kraft, Olivia Johnson and Jaycelyn Johnson; 2 great grandchildren:  Grayson Grove and Oliver Grove; and sister:  Shelly Dornath of Fort Dodge.  She is also survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and ex-husband:  Michael Johnson.
