Funeral Services for Vera M. Samuelson 93 of Fort Dodge will be Friday, Feb 8, 2013 at 10:00am at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, Fort Dodge, with Captain Ron Cook from the Fort Dodge Salvation Army officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. She died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center in Fort Dodge.

Vera May Samuelson was born April 30, 1919 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to William F. and Flossie J. (Newton) Myers. She grew up in the Fort Dodge area and attended Fort Dodge Schools. She was united in marriage to Ted Samuelson and the couple resided in Chicago, Illinois for a few years. Vera and Ted moved to Burlington, Iowa where Vera worked at an Ammunition Plant for a short while, before she was a clerk and Nurses Aid for seventeen years. Vera then worked at Burlington Medical Center for twenty seven years. She was very active in the Burlington Salvation Army. She loved to shop and take long walks. For the past eight years she has been a resident at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.

She is survived by her brother, Wayne Myers of Fort Dodge, several nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Evelyn and Dorothy, and four brothers, Clifford, Richard, Melvin and William Dick.
