Vicky was born March 22, 1947, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Ivyl and Goldie (Jones) Cummins. She attended Border Plains School and Lehigh High School. Vicky was united in marriage to Donald E. “Tiny” Rockafellow. For numerous years she worked as a housekeeper for some great families. She would go above and beyond her duties and took care of anything they needed which also included nannying. Vicky found joy in the simple things in life. She had a passion for motorcycle rides and would often embark on vacations that involved cruising on two wheels. Vicky found joy in the freedom of the open road and the thrill of each ride. In addition to her adventurous side, Vicky had a deep love for country music and dancing. The twang of guitars and the rhythm of the dance floor never failed to bring a smile to her face. Yet amidst her love for lively activities, Vicky also found solace in quiet moments alone. She also cherished quality time with her family.
Vicky is survived by her daughter: Monique (Jimmy) Wickander of Fort Dodge; step-children: Chrystal Damm of Des Moines, Teresa (Weslie) Phipps of Pilot Mound, JD "Rocky" (Kiley) Rockafellow of Fort Dodge, Shane (Megan) Rockafellow of Des Moines; brother-in-law: Dyle (Edna) Rockafellow of Sac City and sister-in-law: Bonnie Garvin of Oklahoma City, OK. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2021; her siblings: Virginia Post, Wilbur Cummins, Lovell Cummins and Harold Cummins; and sister-in-law: Terri Fergenbush.
The family wants to extend a special thank you to their neighbors of 23 years, Jay and Jenny Ort, for being such great friends to her. They also encourage everyone to ride their motorcycles in the procession.
