Vivian Peterson Cline, 91, formerly of Friendship Haven, died Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2004 at Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church, 810 7th Ave, Manson. Officiating will be the Pastor Ralph Egbert. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Manson. Visitation will be held from 3 until 7 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2004 at Bruce's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Fort Dodge.

Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church Monday.

Vivian Peterson Cline was born August 5, 1912 in Sherman Township, Calhoun Co., the daughter of John and Sophia Peterson. Her parents moved to Manson the following year. Vivian attended the Manson schools, graduating from high school as valedictorian in 1929. She later obtained her Associate of Arts degree from Iowa Community College, Fort Dodge. Vivian continued her education at Gregg College of Court Reporting, Chicago.

She was a legal secretary to V.P. Mc Manus, Manson, for 12 years during which time she also served as town clerk. She also was a medical secretary in the office of a neuro psychiatrist in Chicago.

In 1945 Vivian was united in marriage to Ebert Cline in Chicago where they lived for 11 years, returning to Manson in 1956. After their return Vivian worked as a legal secretary for Judge A.J. Bragenton and later for Gordon Madson. Mr. Cline died in 1973 and Vivian moved to Friendship Haven in 1990, later residing in Humboldt.

Vivian leaves surviving her one stepdaughter, Shirley Cline of Humboldt, four grandchildren, Thomas Cooper, Jerry Cooper, Matt Cooper, and Denise Fevold; she has 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. Mrs. Cline was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Ebert.
