Vivian N. Whitehill, 85, of Fort Dodge, IA, went to be with Jesus on Monday, June 15, 2026, from the Good Samaritan Society in Manson, IA. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South – Fort Dodge, with Pastor Steve Bachman officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at McGuire Bend Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Vivian was born October 5, 1940, in Lehigh, IA, the daughter of Jonathon Faires and Mary Agnes (Sloan) Curtis. She was raised by her Aunt Nellie after her mother died. Vivian attended Lehigh and Fort Dodge schools. On May 31, 1986, she was united in marriage to Gerald “Wally” Whitehill at Epworth United Methodist Church after reconnecting at a church dance. Over the years, she worked in cleaning/packaging for Dustex in Fort Dodge. Vivian enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, researching family history, graveyard witching and visiting cemeteries where she would place many flowers on Memorial Day. She also enjoyed watching Christian Worship Hour and Ask The Pastor. Vivian was a God-fearing woman who prayed a lot. She also loved spending time with her children & cooking. She looked forward to family get-togethers and making her delicious deviled eggs and apple pie.

Vivian is survived by her husband of 40 years: Wally Whitehill of Fort Dodge; 4 children: Dori Snow, Mary Pfannenstiel and husband Larry, Kate Wilcox and husband Jeff, Julie Ledoux; 3 step-children: Billy Whitehill, Jenny Griffith and Rickie Whitehill; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Darrell Curtis and Raymond Curtis; as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 children: Bob Helmbrecht and John Helmbrecht.

Final words from Vivian: I love you all. I want to stress to my family that there is a God and hope you open your hearts to let God in.
