Wayne Newman

Funeral Services for Wayne B. Newman 80 of Fort Dodge will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.  at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge with Rev James Laupp officiating .  Visitation will be Monday,  5 pm to 7 pm and continue on Tuesday one hour prior to services.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. He died Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Wayne Barnett Newman was born February 2, 1934 in Bode, Iowa .  He attended schools in Bode and later in Fort Dodge. Wayne served in the National Guard from 1951 through 1955.  He was united in marriage to Marilyn Purkapile on September 18, 1962 in Fort Dodge.  The couple made their home in Fort Dodge where Wayne worked construction, drove semi truck and then retired from Webster County Conservation.  He enjoyed woodworking, welding and puzzle books.

Wayne is survived by his wife Marilyn of Fort Dodge, daughter Molly (Steve) Pannkuk of Webster City, Dwayne Newman of Early,  Curtis Newman of Fort Dodge, stepson Wayde Purkapile of Webster City, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Gail and sister Vernita.
