William H. Hass

William H. Hass, 82 of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 in the chapel of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Inurnment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the church.

William was born on November 27, 1928 the son of William M. and Emma (Dethlefsen) Hass in Carroll, Iowa. On December 5, 1952 William was united in marriage to Delores Schutt at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. Upon moving to Fort Dodge William began working at the Iowa Beef Processing Plant. Following the closing of the plant he went to work in the maintenance department at Iowa Central Community College.

William loved being a handyman. He was always working on and remodeling the house. William enjoyed being outdoors whether he was relaxing while fishing or working hard in his garden.

Those thankful for having shared in Williams life include his wife of more than 58 years, Delores, two daughters, Kathy (George) Newcomb of Fort Dodge, Pamela (Gary) Erickson of Panama City, FL, one sister, Caroline (Robert) McFarlin, one brother, Robert (Phyllis) Hass, two grandchildren, Kari (Matt) Schmidt, Jeremy (fiancé Barb) Newcomb and four great grandchildren, Kylee, Rowan, Sydney and Kennedy.

William is survived by his wife, Delores and two daughters.
