Audrey Darlene (Cran) Carter, 88, of Humboldt, IA died Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Unity Point – Trinity Regional Medical Center.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Union Cemetery in Humboldt with Pastor Lela Disburg of Faith United Methodist Church officiating.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Audrey was born July 8th, 1933 in Humboldt. Her parents were Kenneth A. & Nina E. (Hart) Cran. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1951. On June 15, 1952 she was united in marriage to Edward D. Carter Sr. The couple later divorced.

Audrey was an independent woman that enjoyed working. Some of her previous careers included selling jewelry & Avon, secretary work for the state parole office, and fingerprinting for the government. After retiring, she enjoyed having coffee with her friends at Perkins but she was best known for leaving special notes in her greeting cards. She was an animal lover, and was particularly fond of kitties & rabbits.

Audrey is survived by her 4 children: Kenneth Carter (Debbie) of Fort Dodge, Kim Carter (late Jimmie Jordan) of Tama, Edward Carter of Pomeroy, Patrick Carter of Woden.

Her grandchildren are: Adam Carter, Curt (Laurie) VanBeek, Jennifer (John) Gross, Molli Carter, Emily (Brian) Bodenstedt, Amber (Tony) Crowder, Elizabeth (Christopher) Watnem, and Alexzander Carter.

She adored all of her great grandchildren: Gage, Danica, Addison, Rowynn, Grayson, Kailey, Keagan, Tatum, Dominic, Kendall, Charlotte, and Chandler.

Audrey is survived by many special cousins, lifelong friends, and her niece Shondra (Wade) Haywood of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son (Richard Carter), brother David (Jaci) Cran, and nephew Christopher Cran.
