Jack Duane Davis

Jack Duane Davis, 75, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.  Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South with Pastor Nathan Lawrence with Prairie Lakes Church officiating.  There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will take place in North Lawn Cemetery.  Services will be live streamed via the Historic Bruce Funeral Home Facebook page.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

Jack was born May 14, 1947, in Fort Dodge, the son of Marvin F. and Grace (Musselman) Davis.  He graduated from Cedar Valley High School in 1965.  On June 26, 1981, he was united in marriage to Sheila Vinsand in Blue Earth, MN.  Jack worked at the Fort Dodge Labs for 27 years before his retirement on September 11, 1991.  Jack enjoyed spending time with his entire family and especially his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed music, playing guitar, singing and sports – especially football and baseball.  He was a member of Prairie Lakes Church.

Jack is survived by his wife of 41 years:  Sheila Davis of Fort Dodge; 3 children:  Julie Rae Anderson and husband John of Fort Dodge, Jodie King of Fort Dodge, and Jennie Davis of Fort Dodge; 5 grandchildren:  Logan Hartzler, Tia Hartzler, Noah Lee Davis-Bird, Jayceon Brown and Carson Johnson; 1 niece:  Robin Davis-Duckworth; and 1 nephew:  Brandon Blunk.  He is also survived by many great nieces and great nephews:  Brittney, Brandi, Justin, Colton, Bryli, Beckham, Nathan, Braxton, Sianah, Isabella, Nova and Ava. And special friend of family:  Chad Bird.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother:  Marvin “Marv” Davis; and great nephew:  Michael.
