Larry Dean Buttz

Larry Dean Buttz, 70, of Webster City, IA, died Friday, April 14, 2023, at Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City. Private family services will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

Larry was born August 9, 1952, in Fort Dodge, the son of Virgil Wayne and Arlene (Flath) Buttz.  He graduated from Harlan High School.   He served in the U.S. Navy for 20+ years and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.  On August 8, 1982, he married Julie Couse at the Riverside Church in Fort Dodge, IA.  To this union 3 children were born:  Tammie, Tonya and Todd.  The couple later divorced.  Following his military career, Larry drove truck for many years.  Larry was a man of few words who enjoyed traveling and watching Westerns.

Larry is survived by 3 children:  Tammie Buttz of Mason City, IA, Tonya Buttz of Fort Dodge, and Todd Buttz of Coalville, IA; 5 grandchildren:  Tavia, Kauner, Brayden, Brooklyn and Leah; and 5 siblings:  Gary Buttz and wife Linda of Fort Dodge, Sandy Hudson and husband George of Fort Dodge, Donna Buttz of Minnesota, Brenda Buttz of Des Moines, IA and Robert Buttz of Fort Dodge.    He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers:  Virgil Buttz and Jim Buttz.
