Rosemary Weiss Obituary

Rosemary Helen Weiss, 89, of Fort Dodge, IA, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Christmas day at Fort Dodge Health and Rehabilitation.    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 6, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 400 S. 13th Street, with Rev. Jerry Raether officiating.  Services will be livestreamed via the Historic Bruce Funeral Home Facebook page and St. Paul Lutheran Church website.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the church service.  Interment will take place at North Lawn Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

Rosemary was born on June 20, 1933, in Fort Dodge to Louis and Lydia (Will) Weiss.  She was number 12, the baby of the family.  However, she may have been the baby but she was the care giver to all.

Rosemary attended Badger #9 Country School until 5th grade, St. Paul Lutheran School 6th – 8th grade and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in the Class of 1951.  Following graduation, she worked in the dental office of Dr. Robert Knight.  She also developed photos, worked as a nurse’s aide, and cleaned houses for others.

Rosemary was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s.  She was baptized on July 23, 1933 and confirmed on March 30, 1947.  She attended various Bible study classes.  She never forgot a birthday and always found the time to make a phone call.

Those who preceded Rosemary in death are greeting her with arms wide open: her parents, brothers and wives: Victor (Harriett), Francis (Juanita), Harold (Margaret), sisters and husbands: Esther (Claude) King, Frieda (Henry) Mehlert, Cecilia (Maurice) Mitchell, Ruth (Richard) Sperry, Margaret (Wilbur Ricke, Orville Walters), Veronica (John) Ault, Gloria (Irving) Larson and infant sister Florence.  She is also preceded in death by several nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, numerous great great nieces and nephews, numerous great great great nieces and nephews and so many wonderful friends.

There are not enough words to describe this remarkable woman who devoted her entire 89 years on earth for the care and well being of others.  Not just family, but everyone she met (whether she knew you personally or not) she cared deeply.  Rosemary was truly a “Saint” in the family.  She will be deeply missed.

Heaven received our Christmas Angel – Rosemary.
