December 14, 1928 ~ August 14, 2022 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Obituary

Wayne D. (Jack) Wieser, 93, son of Joseph and Estella, was born at home in Wray, CO. on Dec. 14, 1928 and passed away on August 14, 2022 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House.  No services are planned.  A private family gathering will be held at a later date.  Historic Bruce Funeral Home is serving the family.

Jack is survived by his daughters; Norma (Bill) Adson, Nancy (Tom) Ruge, and Christine Perry (with Barbara); step-daughters Christie (Bruce) Murray, and Carla TerHark (Doug Langenwalter) with Geline; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grands.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Geline (July 3, 2022); siblings Chester, Willard, Everett, Bill, June, Ben, Dan, Dale, Lois and Larry; and great grandson David.

Jack served in the US Navy in 1946-47 aboard the USS New Jersey during the Goodwill Tour of Europe at the end of WWII.  After his discharge he moved to Iowa to begin his civilian life.  He moved to Fort Dodge in 1959 with Barbara and their girls and worked for Friden Business Machine Co.  In 1982, Jack and Geline moved to Oklahoma and then to New Mexico, where they retired and took to the road in their RV.  Eventually they ended up in Arizona for 25 years.  Jack enjoyed golf, a good match on the pool table, and happy hour get-togethers.  His favorite saying was “when the mountains turn pink, it’s time to drink.”   In 2017 they returned to Fort Dodge.  Dad was a man of many talents, a diehard Ford customer, and had a work ethic to be envied.  He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys football fan.  We’ll miss you, Cowboy Jack!

Memorials may be directed to the Paula J. Babar Hospice House.
